Alice is Nikolay's preparatory pointe shoe, made to strengthen the arch and foot before a student goes fully on pointe. It bridges Nikolay's Exam model and a first pointe shoe, letting first-year students start elements of pointe work at the barre. Nikolay recommends wearing it for three to six months after the Exam model.
